2 — Get out to a classic dance

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with a show and dance featuring live tributes to classic musicians. Performances include Patsy Cline, The Monkees, The Beach Boys and Elvis. With food and drinks for sale and prizes to be won, the show is Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Western Development Museum. Tickets are available from Sobeys at Eighth Street and Cumberland Avenue or Captain’s Den in Market Mall.

3 — Explore a collaborative art opening

The Gallery/Art Placement Inc. presents Cuddles, an exhibition bringing together works by Prairie artists Shanell Papp and Joseph Anderson. Papp works in photography, drawings and textile sculptures while Anderson creates illustrations, watercolours and soft sculptures. Their works balance the whimsical with the macabre, seeming lighthearted and playful, but with underlying darkness and horror. The exhibition opens with a reception Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and runs to March 22 at the gallery. Learn more at artplacement.com.

4 — Celebrate romance with the SSO

The Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra presents Sleeping Beauty, a romantic evening of classical music. Guest conductor Judith Yan leads the SSO through a song list that includes works from Tchaikovsky’s Sleeping Beauty. They are joined by guest violinist Timothy Chooi for Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy. The concert is Saturday at TCU Place at 7:30 p.m. It will also be available on livestream. Learn more at saskatoonsymphony.org.
