A SpaceX rocket has blasted off from Florida carrying two privately constructed lunar landers and a micro rover to the Moon.

The uncrewed Falcon 9 launched from the Kennedy Space Center on Wednesday.

Later on Wednesday, SpaceX is expected to carry out the seventh flight test of Starship rocket. It completed a world first last year after part of it was captured on its return to the launch pad.

This comes days after the launch of Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket was postponed due to a “vehicle subsystem issue”.
